A green membership card with blue text, dated 1961. At the central top is the words, "Objects and Principles of the Association," listing below are five points promoting the membership. The points in order reads, "1. To urge its members as citizens of the United States to fully participate in the political, civic social and commercial life of this great country. 2. To promote a better understanding between the American and Greek people. 3. To cooperate in benevolent and charitable matters. 4. To maintain the Greek Orthodox religion and to cultivate Greek learning and culture. 5. To promote good fellowship and a spiritual of altruism among its member." Located below the five numerical points is printed text certifying Mary Economidou. The text reads, "This Certifies that Sister Mary Economidou is a member in good standing of G.A.P.A. Ladies Auxiliary Andronice No. 43 City Houston State Texas. Signature of member (empty line). The card is stamped, seen on the bottom left corner and is sign by Supreme Secy. On the back side “has written cursive located on the left corner reading, " She (with three lines crossing out) Your grandmother" the remaining cursive is illegible. To the far left side is a chart with the words "Member of Emergency Fund" printed above. In the columns are subjected by date 1961 with the months (January to December), AMT, and financial Secretary. Located below is text that reads, "Dues are paid to the month bearing the secretary signature." In the cart is a handwritten message, written in black ink. To the left is a blue stamp reading, "Greek American Progressive Assn 1961 Membership Card 1961."
