A typed letter dated January 29, 1949.  The letter is three paragraphs longs, is written in English, and composed of paper and black ink. The letter is written by Randolph Piersen and is address to Mrs. H. Economidy 1817 Center Galveston, Tex.. At the top of the document is the header which reads, "Randolph Pierson Attorney at Law 311 1/2 22nd street Galveston, Texas." The content of the letter reads, " Dear Mrs. Economidy: Your short and impressive note of January 24, 1949 received together with your comprehensive treaties on the background and events of what is properly allude to as our local and modern Greek tragedy. From them I feel a tingle of flattery and with modesty and deep sincerity I want you to know that my conception of the sequence of events, although not based upon personal knowledge in as close a degree as you have evidenced, was perhaps by instinct or intuition conceived in my mind in thoughts quite parallel with your, and to say that had the issue been forced to trail and had my limited abilities succeeded in permeating into the minds and the hearts of the jurors as I saw and felt the events, they would in all probability have acquitted him for had I been a one-man jury to pass in judgment I would have done so and feel that you would have too. It was no small responsibility to recommend to poor Nick that he accept the given 25 year sentence, but bearing in mind the indeterminate sentence law of the State of Texas and feeling that his stalwart character and rugged experience would produce a model prisoner, it was my conclusion and is my honest opinion that within less then one-fifth of his maximum sentence he will once again be free. Assuming you of the sincerity of my deep appreciation of your kind assistance and with grateful recognition of your keen conception and earnest desire to help, I beg to remain Sincerely your friend, (signed in script) Randolph Pierson." In the bottom left corner are the letters, "RP:cr."
