Object Description
A letter of recommendation written by the Senator Tom Connally to Maco. The letter is three paragraphs long and is dated February 21, 1949. On the right-hand corner typed in small print are the names of government officials. The names read: (Center) top Tom Connally, Tex., Chairman. (Left): Walter F. George. GA. Elbert D. Thomas, Utah. Millard E. Tydings, MD. Claude Pepper, FLA. Theodore Francis Green, R.I. Brien MC MAHON, CONN. J.W. Fulbright, ARK. (Right): Arthur H. Vandenberg, MICH. Alexander Wiley, WIS. H. Alexander Smith, N.J. Bourke B. Hickenlooper, IOWA. Henry Cabot Lodge, Jr., MASS. F (Center bottom): Francis O. Wilcox, Chief of Staff. The letter reads, "Dear Maco: I have your letter of February 16 in behalf of Mrs. Marie Economidy, who has made application for a position in connection with your Aid to Greece program, and I have noted with interest you fine recommendation of her. They proper officials have been contacted here with respect to her application, and I am doing everything I can to be assistance to her. I am always glad to hear from you and to be of service whenever possible. With cordial personal regards, I am Sincerely, (signed Tom Connally)."
