Object Description
An aged newspaper clipping of an article typed with black ink. The article is titled "The Mail Bag: Churchill's Talk Hit." The article is a response to Churchill speech to parliament on dissenting the parties in power in Greece, in which Mrs. Economidy writes her embitterment on Churchill’s addressment. The article reads, "Editor The Press: In a recent address to the Parliament, Mr. Churchill directed a trade against the dissenting parties in power in Greece, which has caused righteous indignation among the Greeks everywhere. He has done a great injustice to the Greek people. I am sure Mr. Churchill would not have dared to broadcast his displeasure about dissenting factions in the U.S. or Russia. With souls battered minds tormented and sinister forces at play in their unfortunate land; with faith faded in Allies and why not even in the all loving Father; who is dealing so cruelly with them; with death hovering everywhere and all that is held precious in ruins, is it any wonder that the Greek people have come to the point where they would act shaping their future, independently of the desire to please their great Allies? However, what happened in Greece is not as unpatriotic as what is happening in England today-British laborers striking and thus impeding war production for material gain!-Marie Economidy."
