Object Description
IVORY RECONSTRUCTED BLOUSE WITH 19TH CENTURY SLEEVES. SLEEVES HAVE AN EMBROIDERED PATTERN IN BROWN, BLUE AND GREEN. ONE METAL CLASP ON BACK.
Origin
Reconstructed Greek folk dress, all from old materials--found and wholly designed by artist Hero Athanasiades (now deceased) in 1960. The white cloth comes from a folk costume and so do the borders and the sleeves (19th century). Source wore this with long folk skirts.
