Object Description
Table runners and matching doilies. This is a doily that is rectangular with rounded corners and a rounded bulge at the bottom, which the embroidered floral design centers around. There is a purple flower on the left and a blue flower on the right, with stems coming off of them toward the center of the doily. In the middle, there is a smaller pink and an orange flower, with thinner stems and leaves. all of the flowers have brown centers. There is a lacey scalloped edge all along the outside of the doily.
Origin
Embroidery was originally used to reinforce seams, then it turned into a decorative art. It often marks a girl's transition into womanhood.
