Object Description
Colorful cartoon watercolor print by Theo Angeli mounted on a heavy poster-board backing. This print shows a farmer and his donkey in a face-off with a yellow car on a narrow dirt road.  At the bottom of the picture, only the hood and headlights of a bright yellow car is visible.  The car is on a brown dirt road that is barely wider than the car.  On the same road, facing the car and at the center of the picture, is the farmer and his donkey.  The donkey is on the left.  Tied to each side of the donkey, is a huge sheave of wheat.  Each sheave is twice as tall and twice as wide as the donkey.  Combined, they take up the width of the road all by themselves.  Donkey is also carrying a full saddlebag on each side.  Saddlebag on the left is tan, the one on the right has bright orange and yellow stripes.  Donkey's knees seem to be buckling from the weight of his burden.
The farmer is standing on the right and in front of one of the sheaves.  He is clean-shaven, and has a slight smile.  He is wearing a blue striped shirt with a white collar, dark blue striped pants with a suspender and has a wide-brimmed, yellow straw hat. He is holding on to the lead attached to the very angry looking donkey.   In the background to the right, a rocky mountain side; on the left, a cliff that plummets down to a green valley.
Origin
Theo Anglei was most likely an American cartoon artist of Greek heritage who painted these as a hobby, probably around the 1960's.
