Object Description
Stamped classical figuress. Blue background with black stamped design. Greek key border. The reverse side has a triangular shaped stamp in one corner with words on it, but the words are hard to make out. The stamped design on the tablecloth is repeated. There is a man with black spots on him sitting on a stone seat with a woman in a dress with dots on it holding something circular close to the man's face. The man is holding a staff in one hand and a wreath in the other. Behind the woman in the dress, there is a man standing holding a staff with a sash draped over one shoulder facing away from the woman. Next is another woman playing an instrument surrounded by three men. This design repeats. In some triangles toward the middle of the fabric, there is a single handled vase with the man who was facing away around it, as well as one of the men standing around the woman with the instrument. The vase has people with shields on it.
Origin
The tablecloth depicts people in the classical style of Greece. The Greek Key design is thought to symbolize eternity or the labrynth.
