Object Description
Ecru crochet doily. The end has many points, under which there is a pineapple design. In the middle, there is a six petaled flower, surrounded by a circle of curved lines. This is in turn surrounded by trapezoid shapes.
Origin
The doilies were handmade by relatives of the donor who lived on the island of Kos, Greece. Doilies are used for decoration or to protect furniture. They are characterized by their openwork, which allows the surface below them to show through.
