Object Description
White table runner with geometric embroidered pattern on hem of the short sides in brown, gold and sky blue. Some of the designs are in the shape of fans, with a golden outline, brown cones at the top with blue circles on the point of the cone, and either a brown or a blue cone shape on the inside. The top and the bottom have a light blue border. At the bottom, there is a repeated design of two curly golden lines pointing opposite directions with a blue or brown dot in the middle below all of the fans. In between the fans at the top, there is the outline of a brown triangle missing its bottom with a blue line below it and a curved blue line on the inside. there are two yellow lines to either side of this design. the middle of this runner is plain.
Origin
Embroidery was originally used to reinforce seams and could be seen as a part of a girl's transition into womanhood.
