Object Description
A 17 inch slicing / carving knife with a reddish-brown wooden handle.

The handle is simple and rectangular, about five inches long and slightly wider at the butt end.  Three metal rivets secure the handle to the tang.

The blade is very long and uniform in width with a cutting edge that goes from the handle to the tip or end of the blade.  The tip has a blunt end giving the blade a long rectangular appearance.

This carving knife has the patina of an aged and often used kitchen utensil with signs of staining and discoloration.
Origin
Donated by Mary G. Gatsis. Knives from a restaurant owned by her father, George J. Gatsis.
