Object Description
An interior photograph of the Old North Church. The building appears to be a two-story white-washed structure with a high vaulted ceiling, columns, windows, and three hanging chandlers. The ground floor is composed of white cubicles, possibly private praying rooms that have wooden bookshelves with books. At the front of the building is an altar with five paintings, two closed trigraphs to the right and left of the central painting of Christ, and a window with red curtains. In proximity to the altar is a raised white podium with a red cloth and plaques flanking the altar and podium. The second floor is composed of white pews.
Origin
The interior view of the Old North Church located in located at 193 Salem St, Boston Massachusetts. The church was established in 1723 as the Christ Church. The photograph is owned by the Franzese family. Connected to other photographs from the same New England 1959.
