Object Description
Photograph of a parade float. In the background is a crowd standing in front of several storefronts, watching the float pass. The float's base is light blue with white stripes and white streamers facing the ground. On the side of this float is a small banner which reads "Cyprus Island Society: Justice for Cyprus Committee..." Above the base are several smaller white bases, themselves each with their own light-blue stripes on the borders. Along the spine of the float is a downward-curving arc with grey columns supporting it. On one side of the float is a paper mache statue of a document. Arising from the center of the float is a light blue pedestal with a white base, and on this pedestal is a statue of the island of Cyprus with its coastline covered in blue trim. Along the side of this flat statue of the island of Cyprus are the words "Cyprus: 82% Greek, 17% Turk, 1% Other" in blue and red. Several children are standing and sitting on the float, all wearing traditional Greek costumes and holding Greek flags. Some children are wearing togas with wreaths, while others wear more contemporary traditional clothing.
