Object Description
Large female doll with black pulled back hair and a red pointed hat and veil. She has brown eyes, red lips, and blush cheeks. The dress is red in color with gold trim and coins on the bodice. She has a purple apron with lace embroiderment and reflective beads sewn on . The majority of the skirt is red, minus the center front which is cream with alternating pattern of green, yellow, and red curved lines with three thin orange lines in between. Her arms are made of all fabric with white sewn lines to show fingers and her legs are made of soft plaster and fabric. She does not stand on any base, but is free standing.
Origin
Handmade souvenir from Greece, brough to America by George T. Anton. This individual doll is a part of a collection of twelve others, also in traditional regional costume.
