Object Description
Woven, wool, handmade handbag (tagari). Dark blue with Greek key design and dots in cream and black strippes and designs with blue and cream braided rope strap.
Origin
Tagari purses are woven, handmade, cloth bags. They were often made and worn by Greek villagers during the 1940's and 1950's. They were orignally worn in rural areas of Greece and surrounding European areas for practicality. They are now worn more as a fashion statement.
