Woven wool sqaure shaped handbag (tagari). Rose-colored background with black thread woven in and Grecian vase design with Greek key. Cream-colored rope strap with a fringe at the bottom.
Tagari purses are Greek-style cloth bags and are typical Greek villagers in the 1940's through the 1950's. They were once common in the rural areas of Greece and surrounding European areas for practicality. They are now more of a fashion statement.
