Object Description
Handwoven rug runner made of wool. Colors used are green, black, red, with a sandy rose background. Geometric design. There is a short fringe along the runner with a light beige-orange thread.
Origin
Handmade by Anastasia Ploumi in central Crete in Garazo. Gifts to Ariadne Beck and her mother in 1964.

Garazo is a Village in Kouloukona in Rethymno in the Crete Region of Greece. Garazo is also a Listed traditional settlement, a Town hall and a Municipal district. Garazo is at an altitude of 262 meters. In 1991, Garazo's population was 495, down from 676 in 1981.
