All items donated were gifts to Ariadne Beck and her mother in the 1960's (1964). All items were created in the 1950's while the creators were in their 30's.

The donor's father (George Nicholas Plumis) is from Garazo, Crete. He came to the U.S. in 1912 and stayed in New York and New Jersey at a wholesale and retail Italian Grocery. The donor was born in New Jersey. The donor's mother (Panagiota "Beatrice" Drevas) came to the U.S. in 1912 from Peloponese and was a custom dress maker. The family moved to southern California for father's illness in 1954.
