Sign/plaque that reads, "Michigan Historic Civil Engineering Landmark, 1996". The plaque then has a blue and bronze crest in the middle that is illegible. Underneath that crest is, "The Ypsilanti Water Tower Completed 1860, Designated by Michican Section ASCE". ASCE stands for the American Society of Civil Engineers.
Ypsilanti (1793- 1832) was a hero of the Greek War of Independence. The Ypsilanti Water Tower (1890) was named in his honor, as was the town of Ypsilanti itself (1829).
