Object Description
Closeup of statue of Demetri Ypsilanti in Ypsilanti, Michigan in front of the Ypsilanti Water Tower. Statue is located between US and Greek flags. Trees are also located to the left and the right of the water tower. This photo is more of a closeup than 2001.34.8.17A.
Origin
Ypsilanti (1793- 1832) was a hero of the Greek War of Independence. The Ypsilanti Water Tower (1890) was named in his honor, as was the town of Ypsilanti itself (1829).
