Object Description
Black and white photograph of a couple on their wedding day.
Origin
Christ (Christopher) Molls (Moulametos, aka Aristopoulos) and Virginia Munger (Moujouros) were married on may 4, 1924 at Annunciation Cathedral in Chicago, Illinois. The couple lived in Oak Park, Illinois and owned and operated Candyland restaurant and confectionery. Candyland opened around 1924 and remained in business until the 1950's. Virginia was from Mystras, Greece and came to Oak Park when she was 16 years old. Christ was from Sparta, Greece and came to Chicago around age 8 and was adopted by his aunt. They were both active in the Annunciation Cathedral, whose priest, Niketas Kesses, was a relative of Christ Molls.

The couple had three children: Sophia Banakis, John Molls, and Thalia Karabis, and six grandchildren: Jim, Chris, Ted, and Mark Banakis, Gail Karabis Holguin, and Virginia Karabis Demos.
