Object Description
Orangish/Yellow candle attached at base to long white satin ribbon tied in bow. White/silverish wax flowers and bulbs attached to wire spring up from the bow along the stem of the candle, accompanied by plastic leaves. Decoration at the base is attached to candle with wire that extends around the back and is covered by a thinner white ribbon. At a second location higher on the candle shaft, a thin ribbon holds the top of the decoration in place. Wax has not melted along side of candle as much as in it's counterpart (199.5.2a). One line of wax drips down the center front and there is a small gouge at center top. There are various scratches in the wax, especially along the side. Ribbon is wrinkled and bow is rather crumpled and flattened. Ends of ribbon are discolored with dark and yellow spots. One area on the ribbon is stained with a pinkish hue. There are 2 small pinprick holes in the ends of both ribbons, and the ends are beginnig to fray slightly. Candle seems somewhat warped and bends back at the top.
Origin
