Object Description
A small, predominantly gray, thimble. The thimble is in relatively good condition with golf ball-type divots along the top which have been worn by use. The thimble is made of metal and is decorated with clusters of blue-painted dots on the sides in the shapes of flowers. At one point there was mother-of-pearl inlays around the top of the thimble in leaf patters, and red inlays in the same style at the bottom, however the large majority have been rubbed, or broken, off.
Origin
This thimble was made, and used, in Sparta, Greece. The donor received it as a gift from her boyfriend after he visited his parent's home near Sparta in March of 1998.
