Object Description
Large wooden icon possibly depicting the Annunciation. The Virgin Mary is seated on the right while an angel, on the left, points to a sign in the sky. Greek writing across the top. It was pointed by someone known to the Pepelos family. There is writing on the back.
Origin
The icon was donated by Kim Jones. This and the other two donated at the same time belonged to her grandparents, Michael and Lillian Pepelos of Chicago, IL. They came to the US separately and married here. After their deaths, the icons were passed to Jones's mother, Theon F. Ozias and later to Jones.
