Object Description
Small wooden icon with hook at top (St. Stelianos). Robed, standing male figure with halo holds infant and the cross. Greek lettering across top and bottom, and the date "1886." Black paint frames the figure in a square. Faint Greek writing on the back of the piece.
Origin
The icon was donated by Kim Jones. This and the other two donated at the same time belonged to her grandparents, Michael and Lillian Pepelos of Chicago, IL. They came to the US separately and married here. After their deaths, the icons were passed to Jones's mother, Theon F. Ozias and later to Jones.
