Object Description
This candy mold in the shape of a basket is composed of two pieces of metal that have been incised from the inside to create the texture of a woven/wicker basket. These two pieces of metal are mirror images of the other and are held together by separate pieces of metal that clip the long, flat pieces at the ends of the basket together. These flat pieces are scratched up from having the clips removed and replaced. There are a couple small age spots on the base of the mold and the clips.
Origin
This item was donated as a part of the Dove Candy Collection by Michael Stephanos. Michael is Leo Stefanos' son and now runs his fathers company. The mold was used in making chocolate for the Dove company.

The Dove Candies & Ice Cream brand began as Chicago sweet shops owned by Leo Stefanos, a Greek-American. Stefanos created the Dove brand of ice cream bars in 1956.He sold these locally in Chicago until 1985 when distribution began in selected cities around the country.
