Marshall Field-labeled black straw beret. Its a round straw hat, whose pattern starts at a point in the center of the top and weaves around in a circular fashion until it comes to the opening of the hat which is trimmed in a black grosgrain or corduroy ribbon. There is a bow at the back in the same black fabric as the trim. Inside the cap there is no lining, sewn onto the black fabric is the Marshall Fields Company label.
Donated by Constantine Bacil. The hat belonged to Constantine's mother. The hat was just worn for fashion, there is no significant meaning.
