Object Description
Photograph of the Young Ladies' Philomusical Hellenic Society. The (Greek) Young Ladies' Philomusical Hellenic Society was established around 1918 for the purpose of cultural advancement of the members, and to aid every beneficial movement. The Society aided the treasuries of the three Greek schools of Chicago by giving them $600. $600 was also sent to the Greek Red Cross of Asia Minor. The society held events such as benefit dances to help raise money for poor Greeks in the city of Chicago and beyond. The Society was known for its philanthropic career in benevolent activities for sick and needy families.
