Object Description
Oval Copper container with two handles. The outside surface is embossed with a pattern of flowers (maybe sunflowers) surrounded by leaves on the top and botttom. The handles have circular openings but have three points on the outside edge and were previously embossed with some design that has since worn away. The container has some discoloration inside and out.
Origin
This item was previously owned by Helen Gravenites. The object is a pair with 2004.5.29.B which is a container in the same shape and material but with different decoration.
The container was handmade but there is no indication beyond "Greece" (hand written on a return address attached to the bottom of 2004.5.29.B) where is was made. There is also no artist's signature.

As there is a good chance that other objects from this donor's collection are from Cyprus (or at least influence by Cypriot copper) this container may be associated with the Island as well.
