White/ cream affidavit. The affidavit is from the contractor that John Catsoulis used to build his restaurant. The affidavit is boardered but pink and blue lines. It reads " State of Illinois Lake County. Ernest L. Patinson being duly sworn on his oath deposes and says that he is the contractor for the building erected for John E. Catsoulis, owner, on the premises described as follows, to-wit: Restaurant building located on So. Sheridan Rd and State St. No. Chicago, Ill. That he makes this affidavit for the purpose of procuring from John E. Catsoulis a final payment of two hundred and thirty three dollars and no cents upon his contract for said labor or material or both. Subscribed and sworn to before me this 18th day of Jan. A.D., 1923." There is a seal on the left side by the notary public's signature.

Donated by Helen Grenus. The affidavit belonged to John Catsoulis when he built his restaurant in 1923.
