Black and white photo of a group of 31 men and women gathered in front of the George Dilboy Memorial. They stand in a semi-circle in three rows. The memorial consists of a bronze life-size sculpture of a man wearing a World War I Army uniform and steel helmet, atop a tall concrete pedestal. The figure stands with feet apart, holding a rifle horizontally in front of his waist. Several feet of the pedestal are visible above the people standing below. It has Greek architectural motifs, including a frieze at the top with two Greek warriors separated by triglyphs. Below the frieze is a laurel, and below that "George Dilboy" is etched in all caps. To the right of the memorial is a flag with the number '13' hanging on an eagle-topped pole (Charter #13 of the Disabled Veterans of the World War funded the George Dilboy Memorial). At the left of the group is an American flag, also hanging on a pole with an eagle at the top. There are rows of trees in the near background. In each foreground corner is a patch of tulips and a small American flag stuck into the grass on a pole. A concrete bench extends from the left edge of the image. Several of the people in the group wear garrison caps with veteran's insignia. One of these men, in the front row at left, holds a trumpet. All of the men wear dress suits. Full-length portrait of a young man in a World War I Army cavalry uniform.

This sepia-toned portrait features a young man standing centered in front of a decorative backdrop which subtly depicts trees and a winding path leading somewhere far off in the distance.  He is in full uniform.  He is wearing a campaign hat which has a tall round dimpled crown and wide brim that goes around the entire circumference.  His jacket is buttoned tightly and falls below the hips.  It has a mandarin collar and 4 large pockets with button down flaps.  His trousers, or jodhpurs, are darker than his jacket.  They are baggy at the hips and taper down quickly, becoming fitted at the knees and ankle.  He is also wearing light-colored canvas leggings laced tightly around his calves, and leather Pershing trench boots.

The young man stands angled slightly away from the camera, hands clasped behind his back, heels together and toes apart. His head is tilted slightly to the left and he is looking up and to the right.

The photograph is printed on an unused postcard.

Sepia toned full-length portrait of two young men in military uniform.

The portrait is taken indoors, standing in front of a mural backdrop of trees. Both men are wearing Army-issued winter wool overcoats; double-breasted with six buttons and a wide collar.

The man on the left is taller than the man on the right. He wears canvas puttees or leggings over the shin of his trousers and a narrow, center-fold garrison hat. His eyes are set deep and framed by dark eyebrows.  A thick dark mustache rests above is upper lip. His hands are clasped behind his back.

The man on the right wears wrapped puttees or leggings and a center-fold garrison cap. His bronze service branch insignia is visible on the up-turned left side of the cap. He has one hand in his left pocket and the other at his side.

The two men are turned slightly toward each other but looking directly at the camera with solemn expression. Each has one foot pointed inward and the other pointed at the camera. The wall behind them is painted or wallpapered with naturalistic trees and patterned wainscoting at the bottom. The carpet is light-colored with a dark lattice pattern.

The photograph is printed on a postcard. In the bottom right corner, there is a 1-inch diameter embossed circle with the letters "Bloom---" at the bottom.

Pillowcase
This pillow case for an army mother from Camp Hulen in Texas features a poem surrounded by images of soldiers trainging. There are seven images of military life that surround the central words. There is a top row of images which from left to right are "Parade Rest," an Army insignia, and "Field Artillery Gun and Crew." Parade rest is a colored image of three long rows of soldiers standing in position. The army insignia has an eagle flanked by two long flowing american flags holding an olive branch and a cluster of arrows in its talons and a banner reading "E pluribus Unum" in its mouth. Above the eagle's head is a floating circle decorated with stars. The Field Artillery scene shows men around a large machine gun but not actively firing it. Just under this top register are the words "U.S. Army" in black outlined block letters. The orange color that once filled all (or at least part) of the letters has considerably faded. Directly below this, in smaller black letters is the poem which reads: "Mother There's a dear little house inviting in a dear little place I know. And a welcome is always waiting when to that little house I go. For there lives the dearest lady the sweetest I ever met. And today, if I cannot visit dear mother, I don't forget." Directly under the poem in fancy, gothic lettering is the name of the camp "Camp Hulen, Texas." The the left of the Poem is a scene labelled "Anti-Aircraft Gun and Crew." Again a group of soldiers stands around the weaponry but is not actively using it. To the Right is a picture labelled "Night Firing. Mechanized Cavalry." This is the only scene without any visible people in it. It is a row of 5 tanks which appear to be rolling towards the viewer. The next and lowestest register has three scenes. On th far left is a scene "Cavalry tank in action" which shows a tank about to descend a hill and four soldiers standing in the background. The middle scene has no label but is a single soldier walking along a camp with a series of ordered teepees and a flying american flag. The soldier has his gun resting on his shoulder. The last scene, in the bottom right hand corner, is "Field artillery in Action." This is the most active scene with a deep field so that there is one group of soldiers loading the machine gun and less clear groups of soldiers performing a similar task in the background. The orange stain might imply that this is not just camp practice but actually on a battle field. All of these scenes have been stained with a combination of orange (for the ground, teepees, and skin), brown (for uniforms, the eagle, and tanks), and a blueish green (for the clouds and trees). the stain has faded and smudged. The pillow case also looks to have discolored since World Wat II. Although it is unclear whether this fabric was originally white or whether it was always slightly yellowed. The second piece of fabric that would have held the pillow in has since been removed.

Cover, Pillow
Pillow case dedicated to mothers of soldiers at Camp Chaffee, Arkansas. The pillow case is large burgundy square with gold fringe. The back sheet is white fabirc that is open on one side to allow the pillow to slide in. The front of the case is decorated with felt lettering and floral designs. The top and center is focused on the emblem of the "US Army" over an eagle holding an olive branch and arrows in its talons, a flag crest over its chest, and holding a scroll that reads "E pluribus unum" in its beak. However the felt has worn down so the bringht pinks, yellows, and oranges have blurred together and the details are hard to see. Just over the eagles head beneath the words is circle decorated with stars. Beneath the eagle insignia is a dedication to Army mothers bordered by three pink roses on both sides. The roses are in an identical pattern with a just opening bud at the top above two fully bloomed roses. The petals still hold some of their pink color but the stems and leaves have mostly lost their green. The dedication reads: "Mother To one who bears the sweetest name and adds lustre to the same who shares my joys who cheers when sad the greatest friend I ever had long life to her for there's no other could take the place of my dear mother" The very bottom reads "Camp Chaffee, Ark."

Because it was issued in 1943 the flag only has 48 stars. The flag has been hemmed on the end with the stripes. The hem is now 21 inches but at the bottom a few of the stiches have come undone and the hem has fallen.

The edges are worn, with small folds and tears at the left and top edge. There are three small holes in the top right corner and six in the left corner that might have been from staples. Each line of text in the message appears to be taped on, and this tape is peeling back by the word "follows". In the bottom right corner of the front "VYT" is handwritten in pencil. A small watermark on the back about 2.5 inches from left edge and 1.5 inches from bottom. Some yellowing on right edge.

Statue
3X3 inch base reads George Dilboy (underlined) with a slight angling of the corners. George has knee high boots and is wearing a standard uniform of a United States soldier fighting in WW1. On his back pack we can see the handle of what supposedly is a small shovel. His canteen is at his belt and he carries the standard.30 calibre U. S. Army rifle. His brow is slightly furrowed but otherwise his features are not distinguishable as any particular person. His hat is US army standard. Around his neck is his gas mask pack. The orginal metal coating has a patina tinge mostly near the feet on the base, in the text, and on the points that are handled less (such as in the creases and under the hat). Therefore the figurine is most likely oxidized brass coated. On the underside of the base is a description on cardboard reading "Replica of the Famous George Dilboy Monument Erected at Hines, Illinois" "George Dilboy is the outstanding American hero of World war I, is of Greek descent and was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor" "Sponsored by Constantine Adonopoulos 1456 FLOURNOY STREET Phone MONROE 1634 CHICAGO 7, ILL."

Behind the wooden chair to the left appears to be a false backdrop imitating a tall open window looking out into some trees with birds flying through them. Behind the chair to the right is a blurred back drop, perhaps created by a long exposure time.

Mask, Oxygen
Army green colored Type A-14 oxygen mask. The face mask itself is made of rubber. The face seal goes along the face is rounded at the bottom, slightly elongates to fit better along the cheek area and then cuts in and becomes taller to fit around the nose. On the inside of the maske there is another flap of rubber, held on by two plastic nails, around the area the bridge of the nose would be, and in between those nails is a slightly raised circle with an indented center (the microphone); the center as a clear plastic sheet, which has a small hole in with, showing part of the background that is brown with white writing. The writing that is shown reads "54-A, o, M-CI." Beneath this area is the breathing hole, which is about an inch round with five trapizoid cut outs and the very center has a very small raised piece of tubbed plastic. Underneath the face mask, about on the sides of the chin, are two ventilation flaps, the one on the right being taller than the left. In between these two vents is the connector for the oxygen hose. The hose itself is plastic and ribbed and about twelve and a half inches long. At the vert end of the rubber portion there is a half inch wide metal clasp that goes all the way around it, it is in a dark grey/black color. Connected to the end of the hose is a metal connector, which would allow the hose to plug in and optain oxygen. Attached to the top of the hose is another rubber, smooth, strip the goes all the way around the hose. On the under side it attches a black cord that comes from the top of the mask, bridge of the nose and comes down about twelve inches or so. The end of the cord is two pronged and would have been used for audio. The top portion of the face mask is more rounded where the mouth/chin would be. There is a small indent before the nose and then the mask comes upwards. There is another indent about an inch and a half after the first and then another upward movement of the mask. After this point the rubber is moved about a 90 degree angle creating a seal over the nose. The side of the mask has the two larger rounded flaps that would rest on the cheeks. There are a few straps placed on the mask as well. One of which is placed right before the hose and curves us to the side of the mask. The other rests under where the nose would be and goes straight across to the sides of the mask, meeting up with the other strap. Both of the straps are made of rubber and held in place with black nails. Attahced to the end of each rubber strap are metal loops which hold fabric straps. on the right side there are two seperate straps, one coming off of each end of the rubber ones. On the left side there one fabric strap. The fabric straps are also in an army green color with yellow stitching. Stamped into the rubber on the mask are three seperate text. In bewteen the rubber straps reads "Demand. Oxygen Mask. Type A-14. Large." The text is in four rows and slighty worn off on the first two lines to the right. The other bit of text is on the left corner, above the vent area, reading Bulbulian. The Ohio Chemical & MFG. Co. Arctic. AT APP FOI" This is in five rows of text and above it has a logo of Bulubulin which is of a cirlce with a line in the center, with two B's sitting back to back. On the other side of the mask is another stamped text reading "Property. Air Force. US Army. C No 3163. 8-44." Five rows of text.

On the left center portion of the wire another strand comes off of it and at the end of it is a plug. Cap
Beige cloth naval dress cap. The cap is all one solid color and has one fold that comes up about half way up the cap. On the front side, to the left, there is an infantry badge that is pinned on. It is of an eagle holding a shield. The shield has fourteen star, in rows of two, at the top and vertical stripes at the bottom, twelve strips in total. The eagle has his wings spread open and head turned to the left. Behind the shield are two intersecting anchors. Starting at the top of each anchor is a rope that is twisted down to the base. There is fading of color on the insignia, but it does appear that at one point the whole thing would have been painted gold. On the back side of the cap there is an extra two inch rounded fold on the right corner. In the middle of the top of the fold is a bar insignia. Since there is only one this would indicate a lieutenant, the color of the bar has faded so it is hard to determine if it was for a first (silver) or second (gold). On the inside of the cap there is the number seven stamped with ink on the front side; in the very middle and at the bottom of the cap.

Goggles
White Uvex ski goggles. The frame is curved to fit the face and is a white rubber. On the top of the frame there is two raise black half circles on each side, sitting right next to each other. In between them there is a long raised half tube, which would most likely be used to better secure the eye glass. There is a space for the nose at the bottom of the frame, allowing the goggles to set right atop. On each side of the frame there are three rows of very slight indentation the look like arrows pointing outward past the goggle. The glass portion itself has a green tint. It has the same curve as the frame, and is very rounded glass. It is also very scratched up, more or less all over. On the inside of the frame there is what use to be a padding that would rest along the face, mostly all of it has flaked off so there is just a thin layer of dark brown foam. At each end of the rubber frame there is a black plastic latch that is connected which allows for an elastic headband to be hooked on. The band is black and white striped, two thicker black stripes with a thinner white one in the center. On each end of the band, about a half inch away from the frame, is the word uvex, which is printed in white. There are also two metal loops about two inches apart from one another, towards the center of the band that is used to loosen or tighten the headband.
