Object Description
This 16mm film comes on a 7in reel in a tarnished metal case. On the top of the lid a piece of orange paper is taped to the metal. On it is written "Zakipioy" (?) and then an unreadable word followed by the number two in parentheses. Zakipioy means "purchased" in Polish. The scrap of paper partially obstructs "Part of No I Film" which is written directly on the metal in red. The reel is two pieces of metal fashioned like the spokes of a wheel. On the back, around the center the company's name is stamped "American Molded Products Co." There are two small pieces of paper taped to the plastic on the front side. However, the writing on both of these is so unclear that only the words "all" and "Greece" can be made out. The reels seems to be almost full of tightly wrapped film.
Origin
Doctor John N Nicholson was a Greek immigrant doctor who practiced in the Chicago area for 50 years and was well known member of the Greek-American community. Nicholson created the movie Present Day Greece and Its Mediterranean Islands from 1946-1951. It is a three hour long documentary meant to educate Americans about Greece and the Greek-American identity in order to dispel negative stereotypes. According to the donor file these are just various films and so probably not related to his documentary.

American molded products Co. is an american manufacturing company that began in 1983. Because Dr. Nicholson died in 1990 this film may have been shot in the intervening years. Or a films having been shot earlier was stored on this reel in the 80s.

Without the information from the unreadable labels it is impossible to know what is on the film without watching it.
