Silver film reel made by Compco in Chicago, USA. The reel is composed of two mirrored pieces of metal that attach at the center. Each piece has four, large circular cut outs. On one side there are smaller circles between each of the larger ones, however, on the other side one section has a long cylindrical cutout instead of a circle. The reel does not bear any markings except for the brand name and location (stamped around the central circle) and a measuring scale along the long cylindrical cutout. It rises in increments of 50 from 50 to 400 and marks how far the film is from the center. The film comes up to just under 250. The film itself is tightly wound and about 1.5cm wide. The cover for the reel is made of the same grey metal and is largely undecorated except for the company name in large script with "Chicago, Ill, USA" underneath it. A scrap of paper with the word "Kyros" has been taped to one side. Inside the container is a small crumpled up, napkin-like, piece of paper with a bright green design of fleur de lis and a geometric wave on one end.

Doctor John N Nicholson was a Greek immigrant doctor who practiced in the Chicago area for 50 years and was well known member of the Greek-American community. Nicholson created the movie Present Day Greece and Its Mediterranean Islands from 1946-1951. It is a three hour long documentary meant to educate Americans about Greece and the Greek-American identity in order to dispel negative stereotypes. According to the donor file these are just various films and so not necessarily from his movie but perhaps they are related.

Compco was formed in 1954 as a manufacturer of metal pipe hangers for Commercial Piping Company. Compco Industries has a respected reputation as being a premier supplier of quality metal products in various industries such as: Agriculture, Air, Cryogenics, Gas and Oil, HVACR, Lawn and Garden, Pump and Vacuum, Pressure Vessel, Propane, Sporting Goods, Transportation, and Water Storage.

Kyros is a Greek name and a slight derivation from Cyrus.
