Object Description
A one page pamphlet labeled, "Objects of the Order of AHEPA". Cover has American flag with sky blue background. On the inside of the pamphlet is a one page spread of text. The title heading stretches over the length of the entire page, while the body text is split by the fold in the middle of the page, to form two "pages" of text. At the top, and on either side of the heading, are two crests. Both are similar, involving a sun burst, an eagle, and a branch. The crest to the left has a cross that the eagle is perched on, and the symbol is slightly larger in general. The emblem to the right is smaller, darker (as in more colored in), and has some sort of crown on top of the eagle, without the cross for it to perch on. The heading reads, "Objects of the Order of AHEPA (American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association) Compliments - Northwestern Chapter No. 388 - Peter N. Mantzoros, President. The back of the pamphlet is labeled, "The Meaning of Our Flag".
Origin
Pamphlet - Objects of the Order of AHEPA, compiled by Northwestern Chapter #388, Peter N. Mantzoros, president.

The American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association (AHEPA) is the largest and oldest American-based, Greek heritage grassroots membership organization. Its scope is international with chapters in the United States, Canada, Greece, and Cyprus, and "sister" chapters in Australia and New Zealand under the auspices of AHEPA Australasia.

AHEPA was founded on July 26, 1922 in response to the evils of bigotry and racism that emerged in early 20th century American society. It also helped Greek immigrants assimilate into society.

Today, AHEPA brings the ideals of ancient Greece, which includes philanthropy, education, civic responsibility, and family and individual excellence to the community.

Although a majority of the membership is composed of Americans of Greek descent, application for membership is open to anyone who believes in the mission of the organization.
