White/ cream certificate. The writing is in red and black text. It reads "certificate of appreciation. This certificate is awarded to John E. Catsulis by the Veterans Administration in recognition of the unselfish deidcation that you gave to this country and in honor of veterans day the staff and patients of the North Chicago VA medical center express their heartfelt thanks and appreciation November 10, 1986." It is signed by Lawrence C. Stewart Medical Center Director. And under his name there is the seal for the Veterans Administration.

Donated by Helen Grenus. The certificate belonged to John Catsoulis who recieved the award on November 10, 1986. John enlisted in the Navy on June 5, 1918. He served in WWI as the ships cook, 1st class. He was honorably discharged on September 30, 1921.
