White/ cream receipt. The receipt is the United States Government Veterans Beureau. The receipt is a United States Government Meal Request. The reciept says "To any hotel, restaurant, dining car, or eating house: Please furnish one meal at your regular rate, but not to exceed $1, to Skerkowski, Roman a discharged soldier or sailor traveling at the expense of the United States." On the right there are some signatures and stamps.

Donated by Helen Grenus. The receipt originally belonged to Russel S. Hopkins. The meal request was for Cleveland, OH. on April 17, 1925. The meal request was issued on Medical and hospital services, Russel was going to the hospital.
