Object Description
This is a belt made from purple velvet. Onto it is stitched a gold-coloured metal band of crosses that are linked together. In the center is a piece which is a wreath and in the center is a crown. Dangling from that piece is a scroll shaped piece on which is printed "AHEPA District Governor 18th District". Sewn onto the velvet is a piece of material that says 'The C.E.Ward Co. New London, O. Academic Clothing Uniforms Lodge Goods'.
Origin
AHEPA (American Hellenic Education Progressive Association) is a Greek-American organization founded in 1922 to promote Hellenism, education, and responsiblity. It helped Greek assimilate into American society.
