Object Description
Black replica vase with pink/red painted visues and geometric patterns. On the handles are heart shaped pinkish patterns, the lip of the vase has geometric patterns in black on a pinkish band. The neck of the vase has a nude male figure holding an object with vines surrounding. Beneath the neck is a band of rounded stripes of black and red outlined in the pinkish color. In the center of the vase is a scene of five figures male and female, the center female playing a harp with a deer by her side, and vines surrounding. Another pinkish band with black geometric patterning is below this, with a triangle pattern pinkish and black band following another rounded stripe band at the base. The back side of the vase in place of figural scenes has pinkish floral motifs.
Origin
Pola Alexopoulos bought these replica vases while she was in Greece in the 1960s. They are to be used for educational purposes at the museum.
