Object Description
A framed black and white photograph of the protest outside of the Hilton on Michigan Ave. It is in a black frame with a white border between the frame and photograph. On the one side there is a man in a suit with a band around his arm and he is speaking into a microphone with his other hand in the air. Next to him is the back side of a man in a light colored suit and to the left of him there is a large speaker. These two are standing on a car or some kind of platform because they are taller than the rest. The rest of the picture is people surrounding them with signs in the air. There are some people holding black fabric, an American flag, and other flags behind the signs. The frame is a type of metal and on the back there is two stickers, one with writing in black marker that says, "Property of Stephanie Vlahakis."
Origin
John Vlahakis was at the protest in 1974 about the Cyprus invasion. It was located at the Hilton on Michigan Ave. where Henry Kissinger was. There were around 10,000 Greeks in attendence.
