Object Description
Medium sized round embroidered pillow with a large tassle in the center. The border around the outside and the center of the pillow is mostly orange with blue and green designs, and red and white diamnonds in between. There is a yellow and red braid on the outside of this border. In the center, there is a red coil, which is attached to the large tassel. The top of the tassel is green, but the rest of it is red, except for a few strands of green that are mixedin with the red.
Origin
This pillow was owned by the donor's grandmother, Georgia Gianakopulos. It was handmade in Greece. The Gianakopulos family was from Kosmas, which was near Tripoli. Georgia's husband, Louis, founded a church on LaSalle Street when he came to Chicago.
