Large, black metal steamer trunk. Key is in file.
Origin
Donated by Bessie and Christine Avgerinos. Steamer trunks were meant to be used for travel, often having a rugged contruction. Steamer trunks are named after the storage compartment in the cabin of a steam ship or "steamer." At the time of use, they were often called "packers." These types of trunks were most popular in the 1880s-1920s.
