This is a framed oil painting of a Greek Orthodox Bishop in prayer. It is a portrait that includes only his head and shoulders.  His face is painted realistically, reflecting the nuances of his skin and hair color and finest details of facial features.  His eyes are closed in prayer, one side of his face appears illumined.  He has gray eye brows, fair skin, full, but trimmed white beard and mustache.  His countenance appears serene.,  Colors and form become more vibrant and "impressionistic" as you move away from his face.  His brightly colored red and gold brocade robe and miter are subtly depicted and blend into the brightly colored background of similar colors. Overall, the painting is brightly colored with yellow, red and blues in a silver-finished, wooden frame.
