Object Description
This is a painting of a Grecian warrior with his back towards the viewer. He is wearing what looks to be religious robes but in his hands, he holds a shield and spear and is wearing a helmet. The painting has a decorative silver and blue border, with ripped edges placed in a light wooden frame with a hanging wire attached to the back.
Origin
This is a painting titled "Caped Figure With Spear and Sheild" painted and donated by Gus Vellios in March 2002. It is done in watercolor and India Ink. Vellios originally pursued a career in finance but eventually got a degree in Fine Arts from Loyola University in January 2001. Vellios explores Greek culture for mythological archetypes, references, and subject matter.
