Rectangular, tin-colored metal engraving plate with several images on it. On the plate there is a small Swiss Foods logo. The other logo is for Swiss Foods famous instant gravies. The logo has the word gravy in big bold letters. Around it it describes how the gravy is fast, convenient, instant, and tasty.
Donated by Paul and Senya Kalpake, Senya is Gus Manos daughter.
Sixty years ago, Gus Manos began Swiss Products with the introduction of an instant consommé for fine restaurants. Mr. Manos often brought new ideas to the executive chef of the Palmer House, Chicago, Il. Ernest E. Amiet, for his expert opinion. The renowned chef was so impressed, he soon joined Mr. Manos at Swiss Products, where he developed many of the recipes still in use.
