In the lower left-hand corner is a small circular logo with Swiss Food and the drawing of Gus's wife Jillian and his three daughters. On the other side is a larger impression of the logo, Gus's wife and daughters, and it also includes lists the of Swiss Food products and their location.
Donated by Paul and Senya Kalpake, Senya is Gus Manos daughter.
Sixty years ago, Gus Manos began Swiss Products with the introduction of an instant consommé for fine restaurants. Mr. Manos often brought new ideas to the executive chef of the Palmer House, Chicago, Il. Ernest E. Amiet, for his expert opinion. The renowned chef was so impressed, he soon joined Mr. Manos at Swiss Products, where he developed many of the recipes still in use.
