Object Description
Rectangular, woven bag made up of white, brown, and tan wool. An alternating brown, tan, and white handle continues down both vertical sides of the bag. Tassels seem slightly pressed and there is some fraying on the handle and body. In the middle of the bag, there is a white greek key design on a brown background. The main color of the bag is tan with white and brown lines and designs. Above and below the greek key design, there is a design of brown shapes on a white background.
Origin
Tagaris could be used as purses or to hold various goods. They could also be a part of a woman's dowry.

The Greek key may have symbolized infinity and unity in Ancient Greece, and was very popular during the Geometric Period.
