Object Description
Rectangular hand bag made of blue, brown, white, and red wool. Alternating white and brown handle continues down both vertical sides of the bag. No creasing, and only a few minor snags. but slight staining along bottom blue strip. The top and the bottom of the bag are blue. In the middle, there is a design of red X's with dots between its top and bottom alternating with dark blue diamonds with a smaller dark blue diamond in the middle on a white backgroud with a blue stripe going through the middle and two blue stripes above and below the design. Outside of this, there is a light green border on either side, which is followed by a strip of red bordered in black with a repeated design of three white blobs connected by a black line. Outside of this stripe, there is another green line followed by a white line. The brown and white handle going down the edge of the bag ends in a tassel at the bottom.
Origin
Tagaris were frequently used as a purse or for carrying various items or as a part of a dowry.
