White candles tied with pearl colored ribbons 4 inches wide tied with wax flowers and pale green twine. Each cream flower bud has a spot of green wax. At center of each bundle sits an open flower centered over wax leaves. Matching Stefana also included.

Belonged to the donor's mother, Toula Kouimelis Wright (Nov. 8, 1915-Dec. 17, 2004). She was born in Chicago, grew up in Athens, and returned to Chicago in November 1929. The candles are from her marriage to Franklyn J. Wright at St. Constantine Greek Orthodox Church on the south side of Chicago on December 27, 1945.

The ceremony starts as the Bride and Groom are each handed the white candles to symbolize their willingness to accept Christ into their lives. These candles are to be provided by the The Koumbaro who is like a "best man." Traditionally, the koumbaros was the groom's godfather. In traditional Greek weddings, the koumbaro's role is highly symbolic, and his duties are many.
