Object Description
WOODEN ICON OF VIRGIN MARY METAL FRAME W/ GLASS FRONT.

Metal frame painted with metallic gold paint, of which has gotten on the front glass panel. Icon of Virgin Mary in blue, pink, and gold robes. You can see the thumb of one of her hands poking out from her robes, indicating that she is holding her robes in some kind of fashion. Mary is looking down and to the right. The icon is mainly a picture of her head, with a dark gold background.
Origin
It is fairly rare to see an icon of the Virgin Mary without her child, Jesus Christ. This also seems to be a fairly modern depiction/icon of Mary, because it does not fit some of the traditionally labeled icon versions of Mary. Icons are images that are read in order to remember the spirituality and holiness of a figure, wherever it is placed or wherever one views it.
