Object Description
Cream pantaloons with ties at each hip. Crocheted and cut work designs at edge and outer/back knee. The crocheted bottom has a scalloped edge and a design of squares. The outer edge has a cutwork design with three flowers on it that are connected by leaves. The crocheted cutwork starts at the front, then comes to a point above the flowers and descends before levelling off about two inches above the bottom. It has the same design that is on the crocheted bottom.
Origin
Anna K. Keramianakis was born October 26, 1904 and died October 16, 1984. She lived in Spilia, Crete. Her father sold olives in the city of Chania. anna and her mother and sisters raised silkworms and sold their thread. Anna's aunts arranged an engagement for her. She married Kyriakos V. Petrakis on July 28, 1926. On august 15, 1926, they left Crete for Athens. On September 2, 1926 they left for America on board the "Avera". On October 5, 1926, they arrived at Ellis Island, New York.
